1. Editor's words: Hooked on you
The poetry on our website has been categorised into what
we call peoms, an acronym for pretty emotional or mental
states. This is the second in our special series on peoms.
To find out more about peoms click here
"Hooked on you": This emotional state shows that you
have spent sufficient time with someone, often to the
point where you feel incomplete without them.
This would normally follow the invitation to "come share
my love" [this was the subject of our first in this series]
provided, of course, the invitation generates a positive
response.
The notion that "time flies when you are having fun" is
exemplified through this emotional state. Hours you spend
with your partner are anything but wearisome. You are
quite likely to savour and recall every moment with
absolute clarity. The more time you share with them,
there's an overwhelming, engaging attraction between
the two of you. You experience an "unlimited capacity
for love" in the words of singer Grace Jones.
Our primary objective in running this series on peoms is to
trigger something within you which keeps you in tune with
the varying emotional states we all go through.
We'd love to hear your thoughts on this. You can go
straight here and share your thoughts on peoms.
This will be totally anonymous so you don't have to tell us
who you are!
2. Featured Poems
Here's our selection of poems for this week:
Inexpressible joys abound
Inexpressible joys abound
Whenever you are around
A day you are not here
Feels like an entire year.
You don't have to ask why
I glow for you, my cherry pie.
You'll forever remain
Prime inside my brain.
Curiously I stare
Curiously I stare
Still unaware
Of the radiant ray
Coming my way.
By your boundless brilliance
I remain in a trance
Joyfully I acknowledge
You have the leading edge.
3. Did you know?
