1. Editor's words: Emotional Condensation
The poetry on our website has been categorised into what
we call peoms, an acronym for pretty emotional or mental
states. We shall be running a series on peoms in the near
future so please stay tuned. To find out more about
peoms click here.
Another theme that underpins much of the content on our
site is what we refer to as emotional condensation.
Going by the dictionary definition of both words...
Emotional: Of, pertaining to, or expressive of emotion.
Condensation: To change state, e.g., from a gas to a
liquid, or from a liquid to a solid.
We define emotional condensation as a "change of
emotional state". For example, consciously or
unconsciously changing your feelings about someone
from liking to loving, or from loving to adoring etc.
The emotional part is very human and the condensation
part is a natural phenomenon, thereby generating a
human-natural experience.
We've probably all experienced emotional condensation
in some form or the other. Next time you find yourself
changing your feelings about someone, remember it's a
human-natural, wholesome experience which should be
cherished.
We'd love to hear your thoughts on this. You can go
straight here and share your thoughts on emotional
condensation. This will be totally anonymous so you
don't have to tell us who you are!
2. Featured Poems
Here's our selection of poems for this week:
Your beauty's more than skin-deep
Your beauty's more than skin-deep
And I've got to have you for keeps
This is no ordinary assertion
It's the most sincere of my confessions.
Everywhere I go
Everywhere I go
Thoughts of you
Accompany my soul.
Alone, I might be
Restless, I might seem
But loneliness, I never see.
