"Essence of a rose", by Rachel (Third)
A single rose,
Blood red,
Picked for you.
Sacrificing a life
For you.
To pick a rose
Is to kill
Is it worth it?
More roses will come
More shall die
Eternal tears
Of the rose.
Will it always be like this?
A death,
A life.
Blooming,
To die.
All that live
Shall die
That single rose
Will not be remembered
Will not bear any importance
It is but a single flower
In the world
One life,
One death
Unnoticed
No one weeps for a rose
What part does it play?
If I give a rose to you
Will you remember?
The life of that rose
Or the essence it once was?
The circle of life
Has no beginning
Or no end
It just goes on
Where does a rose come in
And where does it go out?
A rose is a flower
A flower, a plant
What is a plant?
Is life but a dream?
A rose
A single, blood red rose
This rose, for you
Is a symbol
But of what?
Of the life it had
Or the death it now is?
What symbol does the rose bear?
Why is a rose?
This rose, for you,
Must be remembered
Not by you,
Nor by me,
But by us.
The love that is shared
Is symbolised by this rose
A rose, therefore
Is love. |
