"Confession", by John (Third)
Alone I lay on this silent night
The fear inside me now takes flight
Of all the things I've let you mean
From different roads that could've been
A terror forms within my heart
Every time I watch you part
Through mountains thick with rock and snow
From luscious valleys far below
I'd travel far across the sky
Whenever I will hear your cry
To be there when you need me most
To be your strength, your holy ghost
Whatever fate befalls on us
It is not you that I do not trust
My heart's been broken, it has been torn
From different women who've made me borne
The pain and anger within my head
And left my love alone and dead
I hope you'll see that deep inside
My love still grows, it is alive
I've never meant to cause you hurt
I'm on my knees, upon this dirt
It's me of whom I have no faith
Whenever I don't see your face
When I act like a jealous bride
And make you angry or make you cry
Remember what this poem says
And keep it near within your head
I'm sorry for the things I'll do
You've won my heart, my love, it's true.
